These are highly sensitive heat producing chemicals and acts as an insulating hot topping anti-piping compounds. On contact with riser metal these provide excellent heat liberation and insulation. Use of exothermics results in better insulation, provide constant temperature, longer action of atmospheric pressure and better feeding action.
